The European Journalism Centre and fjum are pleased to invite journalists and media professionals to a two-day data journalism event where they can learn from international experts how to get started with data journalism and develop the skills they need to succeed in the field. 

Day 1/June 14th, 9 am – 6 pm: The conference

This series of talks is aimed at journalists and decision makers in newsrooms, heads of sections or editors-in-chief, who want to get a sense of what data journalism can do for their newsroom, what the operation involves and if it makes sense for their newsroom to start a data journalism operation.

Day 1 will end with a networking session. The aim of this session is to provide the opportunity for people from several communities: journalists, civic-minded developers, information designers, data visualisation experts, statisticians and data scientists to meet, exchange ideas and build connections between their communities.

Day 2/June 15th, 8.30 am - 6 pm: The workshops

This series of workshops is aimed at journalists who want to develop the skills that will help them start a career in data journalism. The workshops cover all the major steps of the data journalism workflow, from getting data to analysing it, understanding it and presenting it to your public. Please note that the workshops are entry to intermediate level. Limited seats available.
