The music industry is rapidly changing. The internet has enabled widespread piracy, as well as a variety of new business and distribution models. M3 wants to offer an engaged audience in and around the Euregion an opportunity to develop a coherent and detailed picture of the future of music distribution.
On May 31st 2012 a music conference in Maastricht, consisting of oppositional debates, creative workshops and lectures, will provoke opportunities for intellectual stimulation, debate, as well as networking.
The question at the core of the conference is how the Internet and other ICTs have affected music. Each of the segments will highlight a specific aspect, trying to deduce the state of the art and speculate on future developments.
At the beginning of a segment, each speaker will have 5 minutes to introduce themselves and the projects they are working on. Afterwards, the Master of Ceremonies will engage you in an informal panel discussion on the following topics:
Confirmed speakers include a pick of music journalists, academics and industry experts such as Melle Boels from EPM Music, music journalist Theo Ploeg, Alexander Dijksterhuis (Jamez) from Repressure and Frank van den Ende (Please Be Frank). More speakers to be confirmed soon.
For more information and registration please visit the website. The event is free of charge.
