Brussels: An awareness event 'Say No To Drugs" was held here on Tuesday 21st of December 20 in Churches of Scientology for Europe (CSE), from 7 to 9:00 PM.
The Churches of Scientology is supporting a prevention campaign against drugs called "Say No to drugs". During the debate Christelle Fiasse,
coordinator of the campaign stated that " One among three youth is addicted to cannabis
in Belgium." She also showed a video documentary on Cannabis showing former drug
addicts telling about their own miserable stories.
The participants were impressed by what they heard saying that they all learn something out of this documentary.
Another participant said that prevention and education regarding drugs should be held in schools, youth centers and at home with the parents.
An African lady member of a national association for youth requested to get some help to do
prevention actions in the area of Uccle where a group of young people are
dealing with drugs. Another person explained how criminality is related to
drug effects. A large number of teenagers also attended the lecture and agreed with the fact
that they do not know what drugs are really. "They were never educated or
informed on the truth about use of drugs", one of the teenager said.
Christelle Fiasse concluded saying that the Belgium Say no to drugs association is using the free tools of the international
foundation for a drug Free World which include a DVD with documentaries, clips
and brochures on the common drugs. She stated that with those tools
anyone will be able to inform, prevent and educate other regarding the real dangers
about drugs and invited all the participants to become get involved in this noble cause.
Next lecture will be held on Tuesday 11 of January 2011 and will be related to the dangers of Alcohol.
