An Appeal to the EJC Members, Students, Journalists and All Media Professionals

Dear Hannah,

Dear Members of EJC,

I would like to have your attention to the following:

As founder and Administrator of Human Rights & The Media, Mundo Media, Health & Journalism, Tourism & Journalism, Bollywood, Hollywood & Nollywood, Diplomacy & Journalism, just to name a few, I have tried to bring our professional Journalists and other Media  professionals but also apprentices or aspirants, together, with a view to create awareness for the importance of the profession and our responsibility as social and political agents. We are  the ones that actually have the power to influence the public oppinion and the public agenda. All we have to do is to be sensitive, alert and commited to the truth and the facts. We don't always get the chance to get to the bottom of the facts but we can change it if we strive for an independent Media and the education of Media professionals.

We are on the way to do it. We have the voice, we have the words, we just have to say it and I'm doing it  right now, I really hope to get your feedbck and engagement in relation to these important projects for our community:

I need your advice and support to get some ideas and projects done for Mundo Media within Globalization areas. For instance, where to get financial help to put them in practice. I know exactly what to do but I don't have the money and perhaps the EJC could help with practical tools such as the creation and hosting of the EJC Radio/Mainstream TV channel here at the online community.

I want to create a group to help Greece and the Greek people called Saving Greece - The Oracle Quest where we could unite a  group of Journalists and Scholars to launch a magazine called Greek Studies - Which includes teaching Ancient and Modern Greek online, Philosophy, History, Antropology, Archeology and of course Economics, Politics, Business and Human Rights.

You don't need to wait for that, start sending your ideas on how to solve the Greek problem. It is all Greek to me, but this time, I want to learn Greece to help Greece, let the Greeks know they aren't alone. It's all about INCLUSION!

Chinese Business Quest - Human Rights and Business in China (the most important project).

Health & Journalism - Addiction and how to educate the community - inviting the Medical community to participate, asking journalists to interview Drs. specialized on the subject.

Empowering Journalists - Safety Issues - I want to have a group of Journalists and Lawyers in every country of the world, prepared to help those Journalists in Pakistan, war areas and other dangerous places.

Therefore, I need you to help me to organize a video-conference at the EJC and also to advertise at your own sites, that we are looking for volunteers for all of this projects.

Of course, I would like to remain the Project Manager but would need support of the whole community.

I'm confident we will find a way to do it together,

If you want to know more and want to join us, please send me an email: vandecratsuk@gmail.com or leave a comment indicating that you want to participate

Kind regards,

Eliana

Dear All,

Please share the link to our initial project page http://www.wix.com/vandecraatsuk/behindthelens#!portfolio/photostac... among your friends and colleagues.

I hope to count on you to give opportunity for professionals and the public in general to learn and exchange knowledge, ideas, dreams and above all to remind the community of our social responsibility and sensibility regarding global issues and diversity.

Eliana

Hey Eliana,

It sounds like you have some really good ideas brewing :-) Unfortunately, the EJC is in no position to provide funding or to host a video conference for you, however I can give you some recommendations. The Journalism Foundation may be a good place to start in terms of funding. All you have to do is submit your project idea to them and then they will take a look at it and consider if it is something that they would like to help fund.

Another idea would be to create some groups on here so that others can help you and collaborate with you. After creating some groups, I would do a member search of say, members from Greece or China, who you could get into contact with and who might be interested in helping you out. Basically, use the community as a tool to help find people to get involved with your project.

Finally, I would recommend that you focus on one facet of your proposal and go from there. Right now, I think you have some very good ideas, but you need to narrow things down a bit. I think when you have a sharper focus and clear angle of the project, getting things underway should be no problem. If you are able to come up with a clean project proposal in the future, it might even be something that the EJC would consider taking on should we decide that it fits into what we do.

I hope this advice helps you a little bit. I really appreciate your enthusiasm and have a feeling that if you keep it up, you will go far :) Have a great day!

Dear Hannah, thanks for your kind and wise words. If you check your mail box, you will see I have some news for you...talk to you soon, Eliana
