Dear All,
Sometimes, we seem to run out of imagination and wonder what can we do, or write about....? If this is your case and if you really want to make a difference, here is one of the things you can do, for you and me and for the world cultural heritage: write about diversity, in all its forms, cultural, linguistics, political, environmental, geographic, flora, fauna, whatever you want, but help me to promote diversity, respect our differences, and educate the next for the need to learn and understand that diversity is our greatest fortune in this planet!
To start with and to celebrate diversity all over the world, I would like to request all of you to go outside with your cameras and picture DIVERSITY, wherever you are, whatever you find it in you city, in your country, at school, ads in the newspapers searching for foreigners, people that speak different languages, typical food, a Chinese restaurant in Slovenia or Latvia, a German bakery in Brazil, a Brazilian restaurant in Holland, refugees in Austria, etc.
For a change, you could also watch another country's TV channels, listen to world music, try a different outfit...it might be fun and even cool as my son would say it...You can also visit a museum, photograph an specific building, with foreign characteristics or inspiration.
Please send the pictures to my email vandecraatsuk@gmail.com and I will make a nice video-clip or slide for the EJC community. I also would like to ask you all to write an article about Diversity and what do you think of it, so we can publish the articles here in our MEDIA MUNDO, Tourism and Journalism, etc.
Above all, say hello to a foreigner, show interest for their cultures, cook a different receipe today. Just to help you out and give you some ideas about DIVERSITY have a look at these UNESCO videos:

For more in depth information on the theme of DIVERSITY, please read this document : http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0018/001852/185202e.pdf
Have a wonderful day and keep me updated of your results and interesting links you may find and don't forget to send me your original pictures as well. I will post all of them in our websites, but also here at the EJC.
Thanks in advance,
Eliana
P.S.:This is a permanent project. Feel free to send your pictures to this email address: sij.journal@gmail.com to the attention of Eliana

And now we can only imagine how our work on school would look like - co-creation is a great fun!)

Absolutely, the video is just a small illustration, a compillation of the pictures you sent to me. However, the magnitude and greatness of such a diversity event with focus on culture and ecology are very important and have an impact for the rest of our lives. Every new learned culture or language become an extra skill and the capacity we have to assimilate it or at least be open to it, will give us extra advantages in our professional lives. I wish everybody could take their times to watch carefully the short video on Ukraine Summer School and also the short interview me and my friend Linda Lillep from Latvia have made not so long ago: an Interview with a Human Resource Representative of of the Danish Global company Maersk:

Keep on sending messages, photos and if you want to know more about Ukraine Diversity projects please send an email to me or to Daryna Miroshnychenko here at EJC or on Facebook (ILTV Craats).

I am greatful with all the reactions and viewers. At this very moment, 418 people have read my appeal for all of you to join our diversity project. However, I am still expecting and hoping that you are going to send me pictures of your country, so I can make a composition/album/clip to present to the community. It is a great opportunity for you all to show your work, to introduce yourself, your country, the things you like, to share your views with the rest of the world. You can write a poem, you can send one of your articles (if it mentions any aspect of diversity in your country or elsewhere). I am looking forward to hearing from you.

You still have time to send pictures of your own country, illustrating what is diversity, you can photograph the fauna and flora, the people, the archtecture, or also send an article showing exclusive news that you think reflect the character of diversity in the region.
I will be looking forward to hearing from you soon,
Eliana
