The European Union is preparing to make decisions that will have dire consequences for the future of its citizens. It concerns the reform of the euro area. Proposals on the table of EU governments and the European Parliament will impose an unprecedented austerity across Europe leading to further job losses, more exclusion and poverty in Europe.
Today, European officials whose progressive leader of the group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, former prime ministers, trade unionists, academics and representatives of civil society are sounding the alarm. In an appeal posted on the website www.changeforeurope.eu, they invite all citizens to join them to change Europe.
