There has been alot of speculation of whether there is any other habitable planets out there and to top that off, other life. I found a good article that tells you alot of what has been learnt in the past year due to the work of fifteen years time. This topic attacks a couple different topics when you actually think about it. To say that there are more planets out there and possibly other life, does that throw religion out the window. It does not say anything in the Bible about other planets or other life forms. Read this article and tell me what your views are on this topic.
My conviction is still that there is absolutely no reason why there couldn't be life out there. Why should earth be unique, why should the human race be unique? This does of course leave the notion of religion and belief on the outside of the discussion, which in my personal opinion is just fine.
Research like this, as well as other types of research, simply convinces me more and more that it is rather likely for other life to be out there. Super interesting!
Thank you for your reply, you are right, we would be ignorant to think that we were the only life out there and to be advanced. I actually can see us being far behind other lifeforms from different places. We as humans are still very young compared to our planet. If all of mankind was to be wiped from the face of the earth, then this planet would be going back to normal.
If we go into the discussion of whether other lifeforms will be beyond us or not, or if with mankind removed the planet would be normal (in terms of evolution), we open up a whole different set of questions, I think. :)
I'm not a researcher in this field, I just like the mental exercise of thinking about the origins of earth, and the universe, which is so far without definitive answers and thus open to speculation. And I like to keep up to date.
