Will gun shots that are "blazing" in Libya cease? when and how?

Thanks Hanna, you have made my day. you perfectly put things in the right perspective-education on culture and human settings and the fact that minds grow larger as the world shrinks, and i am sure we all have the role to play in educating the uneducated-thanks to the advance technologies

Hi Npong, you have a good point when you say that racism is diminishing. So, yes it's a good idea to limit your analysis there. I think globalization does play a big role in correcting/minimizing this perception because people have become more educated and aware of one another. Racism stemmed from a lot of misunderstanding and misconceptions and I think globalization had a lot to do with helping to break through those thought processes. As the world 'grew smaller' so to speak the mindset of people grew larger and they were willing to learn, understand, and accept new ideas and information. There are still areas where education and travel is limited and therefore some of the 'older' ideas remain, but for the most part the ability to see and understand other cultures has made many people realize that certain beliefs and concepts may not necessarily make sense or be correct.

That comes to mind again, i want to limit the colour black to human skin. Racism seems to be fading or people are now very sensitive to human dignity recognizing that nobody plays a role in creation or in determining the stature of his/her body, and of course skin colour. Has globalization plays role in correcting/minimizing this perception? still on colours

The Colour black is my next article, thanks Hanna, the links you provided will be of help to me. black in Ghana signifies misfortune, grief, sadness and therefore, people use black to represent the devil. but my article will specifically use charcoal as a symbol with lots of medicinal potency.....

I think it depends how you look at it. On one hand, yes you are right, the color black is usually depicted as being something negative i.e. funerals, death, etc. but it is also considered to be a positive thing as well. For example, in the fashion industry the color black is often embraced as the 'it' color. It is slimming, allows other colors to 'pop' when combined, and it is considered to be a 'classic' color overall. Here you see the color black on the runway being embraced for what it is. In terms of skin color, black has also been greatly embraced (see here and here). I see where you are coming from as black in most Western cultures is considered to be something negative. This is not the case for all cultures though. What is it like in your area of the world?

Thanks Hanna, there is a misconception in religious point of view the colour black which has translated into our social set up where we are schooled to think black is bad or evil. Even in pharmaceutical industries, they hardly coat drugs with the colour black, same apply to product designers. even in journalism black is portray to be unfavourable colour. The colour black is used always sometimes during sad periods (funerals) hence my question, "Is Colour BLACK representing bad or devil?"

Hey Npong, when you say 'black' in what context are you thinking? Is this in a religious context, a journalistic context, etc.? Thanks!
