Global Journalism Project- Analysing Multilingual News

This group aims to include people that cannot write in English, give opportunity for  English speakers to practice reading and writing in other languages and multilingual people to improve their skills. Doing so we also aim to strenghten communication for a united Europe, a harmonized Media  and a Global Sense of community. This is a Group for bilingual or multilingual people, writing from every corners of the world in their own languages. We offer another approach to journalism, in the sense that we recognize our focus on the news might be different, according our own geographic position, politics, religion, economy, etc. For instance, American journalists might be missing a lot of information on the US, due to censorship while Brazilian journalists do not hesitate to publish them. On the other hand, German and Dutch Media are completelly different, and  reporting on British life in a different way, then any other news agencies do. Well, we could go on and on, talking about these issues, and we would find more interesting aspects to be investigated. Therefore, it is important to read and listen to local and global journalists. One might learn a lot, just by seeing how they approach the same news and what is actually relevant for each one of them.

We welcome scholars, professors, journalists, communication and media people in general, students, philosophers, linguists, anyone interested to comment and discuss issues related to multilingual news and approaches.

We offer you the opportunity to write in your own language and we invite professional translators to translate it into English, whenever possible.

. . .

greetings all,

I am based in the South Seas, but my writing involves reporting on events in Europe, namely enduring corruption allegations surrounding Clearstream.

Anglais media seem distracted by Clearstream 2, so I have to rely on French news media for continuing reports on the original Clearstream affair, or what French journalists know as Clearstream 1. Primary among them is Denis Robert, whose work across the language line was the subject of what is undoubtedly the most important judicial decision regarding journalism, from the Cour d' Cassation, supreme court of France.

Despite its significance, the decision remains untranslated, and largely unknown in the English world.

Is there anyone interested in working on a translation of this historic decision?

. . .
