JISL - Journal of Int. Security and Law

Reporting directly from war, combat zone, disaster areas, is one of the greatest challenges of a journalist. There is no price for such a job, where one risks his or her own life. However, all journalistic efforts might go unseen, if there is no proper coverage in the Media and if short and brief pictures of war aren't well explained to the public. Therefore, we need journalists, reporters, photographers, but also special commentators that can tell us the impact of these wars, how does it affect international relations. Historians to tell us that things like that might have happened before and perhaps they are repeating itself. Politics and the professors and philosophers that can tell us a whole lot more. Bring light into this discussion, join this group of students and legal experts from all over the world. Now at the EJC and on Facebook.

War correspondents, TV presenters, UN, NATO, ICJ, ICTY, teachers, students, lawyers, journalists covering legal issues on matters of international law and security, politics, philosophy, psychology, history, social sciences in general are invited to participate.

Our aims:

To serve as a link between professionals, scholars, students and international organizations, while serving the community. We clarify issues that until now, have only been discussed in internal and exclusive circuits.

To  give our contribution to a better understanding of relevant issues

in the development of the Nation/States from the perspective of our own societies.

Our Focus:

International legal issues such as WARS, natural disasters, etc.

The Nation/State dichotomy

International relations

Comparative law

Interviews

Historic facts and recent developments affecting the lives of all citizens around the world.

Become and observer, a correspondent, a reviewer, an adviser or comment on issues of interest to the int. community.

Hi George,

Welcome on board of the JISL Journal. I really enjoyed reading your text on "Boko Haram". Thanks for sharing such an interesting history. I wish all of us reflect on the issues and that we learn from eachother. We should never give up on HOPE. I think all we need is determination to fight the challenges of terrorism.

Yet, it is perhaps a good idea to invite people to comment on these histories and investigate all sides. A constructive discussion is part of improving knowledge and understanding of our cultures. Let's invite more people to join us and come up with innovative ideas on how to solve the problems of our time. Looking froward to hearing more from you and our members,Eliana

BOKO HARAM: TERRORISM IN NIGERIA, WEST AFRICA-'HOAX WAR'

For sometime, Nigerian resident and other West Africans had lived in fear of the dreaded Boko Haram, a notorious Islamic Sect whose believe is 'Western Education is a Sin'. They had daily created pandemonium, a war-like zone, where journalists most times are held in cross fire of gun shots or become victims of their bomb blast. They showed no pity but takes pleasure in seeing people suffer burns or death and they laugh in their hide-out.

Boko Haram with direct links to late Osama Bin Laden's Alqaeda cell network in Pakistan had through late Mohammed Yusuf, founder of this terrorist group imported devastation into Nigeria and West Africa where he created through the terrorist tools fears, apprehension, carnage, calamity, destruction and confusion in the lives of the citizenry.

Upon his death, Kabiru Sokoto, his second-in-command came to the fore Up-North Nigeria had assumed an invincibilty status while he often hid under the cover of darkness to parpetrate all manners of 'man's inhumanity to man'. This certainly gave fears to Nigerian government, ECOWAS and African Union.

Today, the story is different with more intelligence gathering by Nigerians security operatives and intelligence inter-face/sharing by all other security agencies in West Africa, peace which seem to have eluded the African continent has returned because these terrorists are being 'smoked' out of their hiding through undercover operations. Who says terrorism can't be brought under control?

Sign Language in Media, Communication & Journalism

If in Journalism, Media and Communication in general, one deals with freedom of expression, one has to be accessible to all and able to understand and communicate in all languages. Sign language is one of them and it is not only the language of the hearing impaired, it is a minority language of many people in every society of the world. It is also an important way to communicate in some of our world's societies as part of their culture.Although it is very important and for many people the only…See More
