Journalists with extensive experience in a broadcast news environment can apply for this position in London.
The BBC News Channel is seeking a channel controller to help meet the BBC’s standards of accuracy, impartiality and trustworthiness, as well as continuing to innovate on air. The controller will develop new ways of working alongside the BBC's other continuous television news channel, World News, its continuous digital and on-demand services on connected television, PCs, tablets and mobile.
Successful applicants will need to demonstrate sound editorial judgement and comprehensive understanding of the BBC’s objectives. Each applicant should have a proven track record as a television journalist with extensive experience in broadcast newsrooms, including continuous news. Experience of making judgements on matters of editorial sensitivity and the ability to prioritize and interpret the key stories of the day is also essential.
