Job Description

Infusionsoft is looking for an experienced journalist to help animate the company's brand with compelling customer stories. The position's core role is to work with customer-facing teams to create and disseminate stories that capture the unique challenges and rewards of running a small business, as well as useful, actionable case studies on sales and marketing automation. Content will be created in several forms, including company blog posts, contributed content, videos, podcasts and recorded split-screen conversations.

The ideal candidate will have three to five years of feature story or explanatory writing experience with traditional or online publishing platforms (newspapers, magazines, blogs, corporate sites). Demonstrated capabilities in content curation and social media engagement that support content marketing programs also are required. A passion for small business is fundamental in this role. Eclectic interests, superior verbal communication skills and a voracious appetite for reading help, too.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating original, high-quality content that small business owners and the bloggers and media who love them will consume and share
  • Working with internal creative group to develop standalone and complementary online, print, audio and video content
  • Participating in conversations on blogs relevant to our customers and industry
  • Identifying opportunities to contribute content through relevant outlets
  • Content curation and merchandising through social media
  • Additional content development projects as required, including ebooks, infographics and electronic presentations

Desired Skills & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications

  • An undergraduate college degree
  • 3-5 years of feature writing experience with traditional or online publishing platforms (magazines, blogs, corporate sites)
  • Strong interviewing skills, combined with customer service sensibilities
  • Passion for writing about small business sales & marketing topics
  • Experience in content curation and social media engagement that support content marketing programs. Relevant experience with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and SlideShare. Bonus points available for actionable insights on Google+, Pinterest and visual platforms
  • Ability to execute against daily deadlines
  • Self-directed, enterprising work style
  • Ability to reliably track and communicate project statuses
  • Proficiency in seamless integration of SEO-optimized elements
  • WordPress content management and publishing experience

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in explanatory writing (e.g. "how to" articles, training materials)
  • Personal or family involvement with a small business
  • Technical writing skills
  • A blog that's more than a month old
