You’ll provide authoritative, engaging coverage of news and current affairs in Bangladesh in Bangla and English. This will include contributions in voice or text for the various outlets of the wider BBC. In addition, you’ll develop and produce packages for television, radio and online, both in audio and video. This will include producing and presenting high profile, live early morning current affairs programmes which will require night work. This role is being offered on local terms and conditions.
You’ll bring significant and current experience as a reporter and/or journalist which incorporates originating material and editing the work of others. You’ll supplement this with an in-depth understanding of South Asian politics and international affairs. So, you’ll have thorough familiarity with Bangladesh and an in depth knowledge of our audience requirements. Due to these needs, Bangla will be your first (or equivalent) language but you’ll also have full comprehension of English. You’ll supplement this with first class IT skills, including extensive knowledge of the internet, and of the mobile telecom market.
