Nature, the international weekly journal of science, seeks a Chief News Editor to head its global news operation. With 15 staff reporters and a network of freelance correspondents, Nature produces daily online coverage and weekly print stories about all fields of research, the scientific community, policy, funding, and science and society. The Chief News Editor plans coverage, commissions and edits stories, and works with art, production, and other Nature editors to deliver unique, high-impact journalism aimed at an audience of working scientists.
We seek a science journalist with extensive reporting and editing experience and a demonstrated interest in science policy and funding as well as in research findings. Management skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive under pressure. The job is based in Nature's London office.
This position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and is based in our London office.
