The successful candidate will provide specialized assistance in the production and delivery of information communications products for the multi-year European Union (EU) – funded IOM Project, “Promoting Better Management of Migration in Nigeria”.
Core functions / responsibilities
- Develop content for the project website to be launched for this project, update website to include drafting and editing content.
- Research, compile and present basic information for use in the preparation and production of communications products/services.
- Provide inputs for the appropriate medium of communication for the project activities
- Liaise with media practitioners identified for the purpose of coordinating media coverage of important events and providing information on the activities the EU/IOM migration project, in a positive, consistent and credible manner
- Coordinate implementation activities with IOM’s implementing project partner UNODC
- Responsible for organizing the meetings of the Project Management Committee (PMC) and Sector Policy Review Committee (SPRC)
- Develop appropriate information materials (electronic and paper pamphlets, brochures, etc.) Including semi-annual or monthly e-newsletter based on identified needs
- Disseminate the approved project information materials through the appropriate channels
- Be responsible for initiating the production of annual/interim reports for the project donor
- If necessary, participate in coordination meetings with government counterparts, NGOs and other stakeholders in close coordination with the supervisor.
- Undertake duty travel when necessary
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned
