Sky News is looking to appoint an experienced journalist as Middle East correspondent based in their Jerusalem bureau.
Reporting to the Head of International News in London, Sky’s Middle East correspondent is responsible for providing live and packaged TV reports on events across the Middle East and North Africa. Alongside working on the 24 hour breaking news channel, the role will include providing material for Skynews.com, producing content for Sky’s innovative iPad app and contributing to our radio output.
The successful candidate will be part of Sky’s award winning foreign news team. The ability to travel to all countries in the region is crucial and you should expect to travel extensively. At a time of great change this is a challenging role which requires an experienced correspondent with excellent editorial judgement, creative flair and the ability to break news.
In the last year Sky’s Middle East correspondent has reported extensively from Libya, Egypt, the Syrian border and Israel. Experience of television reporting (both live and packaged), ability to write for online and experience of working in a range of countries are all essential.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in TV journalism and working across various digital platforms
- The ability to explain breaking stories on air
- Detailed knowledge of Middle East and North Africa
- The ability to lead and work within a team
- Strong news judgment
