The Huffington Post has an opening for a paid fall internship based in New York City.
The intern will work closely with HuffPost’s senior editorial leadership, which helps guide and shape the media powerhouse, from editorial direction to training to hiring. As such the primary responsibilities will vary greatly from day to day and may include any, all, or none of the following:
• Take/consolidate notes from meetings/brainstorming sessions
• Write/pitch stories
• Research (anything from fashion apps/mobile experiences, to analyzing the viral landscape, to generating names for new sections)
• Monitor and report on important metrics
• Build slideshows
• General maintenance/upkeep of shared docs
• Help make sure important work is not forgotten!
Candidates should be creative, quick learners, detail-oriented, energetic, efficient, good at self-directed follow through, and avid consumers of online media. They should also know how to make long lists. Oh, and they should be fun. Yeah, “fun” should actually be at the top of the list.
You will love this job if you thrive in a fast-moving environment; if you hope that this week will be much different from last week; and if you enjoy being surrounded by smart people. You will probably not like this role if you have thin skin; have difficulty prioritizing multiple, competing projects; and/or have little passion or enthusiasm for life.
This is great opportunity to learn all the ins and outs of a huge and growing media company and get first-hand exposure to how The Huffington Post works.
Candidates should be currently enrolled in school or 0-6 months out of school.
This internship is 40 hours/week at $10/hr.
