Interested in how government works? Want to get to the policy behind the politics? Find the heat of Whitehall as fascinating as the noise of Westminster?
Produced by the political publishing specialists Dods, Civil Service World (CSW) is an independent fortnightly newspaper read primarily by the senior civil service. Enjoying unrivalled access to top officials across government departments and quangos, CSW examines how policies, personalities and politics play out in this vast, complex and vitally important organisation.
CSW is looking for a reporter to work across the newspaper’s news, analysis, feature and culture sections, and to produce online news and other forms of digital content for their social media website. The ideal applicant will be a qualified journalist with some relevant job experience, a keen interest in the operation of government, and the ability to work rapidly across different topics and formats – but this is an open-minded operation, and they won’t disregard your CV simply because you don’t tick every box.
This is a fixed-term role to cover maternity leave, running to 21 December 2012.
The position is based at the Dods offices just off Parliament Square, Westminster. Some evening work is involved, and very occasional weekends when required for interview travel or party conferences. Salary dependent on experience; there are 25 days’ holiday, pro rata.
