As an Assistant Editor for our journals, including leading titles such as Advanced Materials and Macromolecular Rapid Communications, you will gain on-the-job experience in many different aspects of publishing, such as the acquisition and development of journal and magazine content (both print and online), editing, proofreading, coordination of freelance work, and contact with authors and referees from all over the world as well as contributing to the content and development of our news sites Materials Views and Pro-Physik.

Applicants for the position should have a broad interest in chemistry/materials science/physics, be self-motivated, have excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal), be diplomatic, flexible, familiar with text and graphics computer applications as well as social media tools, and have an excellent command of the English language. Fluency in German and previous publishing/writing experience would be advantageous.
