Sign Language in Media, Communication & Journalism

If in Journalism, Media and Communication in general, one deals with freedom of expression, one has to be accessible to all and able to understand and communicate in all languages. Sign language is one of them and it is not only the language of the hearing impaired, it is a minority language of many people in every society of the world. It is also an important way to communicate in some of our world's societies as part of their culture.

Although it is very important and for many people the only way to communicate, it is not very well explored in the most popular Media. Sign language can help us to develop our capacity to understand unspoken language in many different ways,

It is time to invite all people to learn and to engage in new aspects of our profession, use all tools and possiblities. Above all, this group aims to include and invite all journalists, students, health professionals, teachers, filmmakers, software developers, photographers, audiologists, logopedists linguistic professionals, anyone with an interest and knowledge of sign languages, with or without a disability,

Here we want to share experiences, investigate the new developments in this area. Furthermore, we want to be creative using sign languages in video, written material, etc. Interactive Media  can help us to break the barriers among writers and communicators of all backgrounds. Innovation has no frontiers and welcomes all people.

Join us today and make a difference in our society!
