Thanks Sueli for adding me as a member and hello everybody,

I would like to present you the blog I started with Sylvie Garrone: http://www.petalirossi.com

It gives voice to Italian and foreigners women who are working in defence of human rights and their own dignity. And it demonstrates how ordinary women are extraordinary.

Petali Rossi means Red Petals. The Red Petals are teachers, lawyers, journalists, ngo's operators, writers, nurses, doctors...whatever their job, they all have one thing in common: the defence of children and adults rights.

Petali Rossi is one of the resources of the international press agency Street News Service (INSP).

Last year it was one of the blogs selected by the magazine Internazionale, for the Internazionale's Festival in Ferrara (2010).

If you know some interesting "Red Petal" and want to give her voice through my blog, please write to me at info@eleonoraterrile.it

Hello everybody. Few months ago I started a blog writing about gender issues in Italy. The blog is called Woman's Journal http://womanjournal.wordpress.com and it is growing quite fast so that we decide to expand launching a call for contributors from all over the world. We look for journalist, blogger or just ordinary people with an interest in gender issues and problems who wants to write about the living condition in their own country.
Should you have an interest in the project please do not hesitate to write me to laurapreite@gmail.com or to thewomanjournal@gmail.com

Thanks Sueli for this community!

Thank you Khalid for this interesting read, which led me to look for more information about women journalists in Pakistan. I found a recent article which I will post as a new discussion item.

It was only in late 2010 that women journalists in Pakistan formed their own professional group titled Women Journalists Pakistan (WJP). Have a look at this development at http://www.journalismpakistan.com/storiesforjp/757.html
