When your whole political and social structure undergoes a sudden and dramatic change it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that violence can result. And although it would be nice to think that the Arab Spring suddenly changed the world and that there would be no more violence it is a bit naive to think that a change that earth shattering could happen overnight. All you have to do is remember that the American Revolution did not happen in a day and that even when that ended to this day there are still Americans who would rather resort to violence to change the system to fit their own views of the world than abide by the Constitution. The Arab world is more complicated and nuanced than the so called experts and talking heads can even begin to explain in an hour news program. It's easy to see how people can be convinced that when a group of radicals start burning down embassies and killing people that they are representative of the whole Arab world. Change is rarely ever easy and in the case of the ARAB spring I'm afraid it may get a whole lot worse before it changes into anything anyone can peacefully live with and even then there will still be people who thrive on chaos.
