Central Athens was covered in tear gas after demonstrations there turned violent. Thousands of workers and others were on strike in protest against economic austerity measures that unions called ineffective.

Hi Nikos, thanks for informing us. The situation is dramatic and we need to engage the international Press and the international community to follow the conflict and engage in searching for solutions. It is of the public interest to urge the EU to intervene. This is unnacceptable. We are all EU citizens and if Athens is the scenary of such a chaos, it is hurting all of us. It is the EU which is been affected as well. Let me know
