Can it be learnt? Why some artistic works end up in a museum or famous galleries around the world and others are ephemerous but equally important or much less famous and appreciated than traditional and classic works of art? What is the difference of an sculpture, a photograph and a Van Gogh hanging on the wall?I have a friend who is a goldsmith, can we say that he is also an artist?Well, for me…See More

Hi Everyone,

Journalism in Israel and the Palestinian Territories is not an easy profession. I have left day-to-day journalism and work for a think tank, but I follow the local media closely, and had taught a course on "International Reporting" at a US university.

Journalists on both sides of the "Green Line" often face political, governmental, non-governmental, ideological, and social pressures that limit their freedom of movement, freedom to write, and even, their personal physical safety.

They are under tremendous pressure to present a "positive" spin on the news from their home territory. They face censorship - both overt and covert.

Journalism here is ideological; "objective" journalism is not practiced. In fact it is usually sneered at as being impossible or unworthy of being sought as a goal.

Hi Eliana. nice to meet you. I've been reading your blog posts. And I look forward to reading more. After a day of reporting court trials on a local scale, it is inspiring to read such insightful posts on a grand scale. Reiser du ofte til Norge fra Danmark?
