For six years I was working as investigative journalism for the leading Latvian daily newspaper. I was covering such topics as organized crime, smuggling, corruption.
From 2011/2012 I was Fulbright/Humphrey fellow at the University of Maryland, USA. During my program I took professional affiliation at the Washington Post and the ICIJ. Simultaneously I was also working to establish first non-profit media organization in the Baltics: The Baltic Center for Investigative Journalism which will do investigations and implement new journalism practices in our region.
I am also teaching feature writing in the University of Latvia.
