I have been a professional journalist and editor for more than 42 years. I am currently the operational leader of an integrated newsroom at The Age overseeing more than 250 journalists working across five platforms 24/7. In July 2012 we implemented the most radical change in our group's 160-year history, converting five separate but aligned newsrooms across Australia (approx 600 journalists) to one digital-first newsroom.
