Charges referred to general courts martial for Sgt. Travis Carden

KANDAHAR AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - The Regional Command-South commander referred charges for Sgt. Travis Carden to general court-martial this past week. Sgt. Carden is charged in connection with the October 3, 2011 death of Pvt. Danny Chen, an infantryman assigned to C Co., 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Combat Outpost Palace.
