federal government taking keen interest for the providing of basic facilities, Federal minister

Peshawar: Federal minister for SAFRON, Engineer Shukatullah khan has said on Saturday that federal government taking keen interest for the providing of basic facilities to the people of Federally Administered Tribal Areas and in this regards several mega projects would launch very son in the different areas of Fata.

Addressing in the launching ceremony of Tribal Areas Rural to Urban Centres Conversion Initiative (TARUCCI here at khar. The federal minister said that the tribal areas had been ignored by all the government and this was the reason that the people of the areas facing a lot of problems.

Lack of basic needs and proper attention were the main reason of the backwardness of the tribal people, he added. He said no doubt that in the past all the government had allocated huge amounts for the developments of the tribal areas but due to the lack of accurate check and balance, most funds had been misused.

The federal minister said that the present federal government has not only increased the annual developments funds of the fata, also ensured transparency and standards in all developments schemes. To ensure the check and balance of the development schemes special monitoring system has been introduced in Fata, the minister claimed.

He said that the government aims to use the funds only on merit adding that for this purpose all the schemes are deciding with the consultancy of the tribesmen. He said that most parts of the Fata especially Bajaur have been badly affected by the recent militancy and military operation and as a result majority of its people facing huge troubles.

He said that the government very interested to provide basic needs and facilities to tribal areas like the urban cities of the country and said that the launching of mega projects would improve the life standards of tribesmen.

The launching ceremony of the newly project was attend by a large number of tribal elders, traders, social and political workers while official of the local administration and officers of line deportments were also present in the event.

Member National Assembly Syaid Akhoon zada Chattan , Secretary, Law & coordination and infrastructure Fata ,Captain (R) Munir Azam , project director, Tribal Areas Rural to Urban Centres Conversion Initiative (TARUCCI), Umar khan also spook the ceremony.

Highlighting the purpose of the project, Umar khan said that the main purpose of the project was to provide urban facilities to the people the agency head quarter khar and its surrounding areas. All the urban facilities enjoying others citizens of the major cities will be provide to the people of khar through this project , he said .

Umar khan said that initially $7 million funds have been allocated for the three years World Bank based project and if the program achieved its target it would extended to the others parts of Fata . He said that the Tribal Areas Rural to Urban Centers Conversion Initiative (TARUCCI) was approved in 2010 for the tribal areas adding that the project was postponed due to the unsuitable law and order situation in the areas.
