HABIGANJ, July 11: A journalist was crushed to death under the wheels of a train near Shayestaganj Railway station in Sadar Upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Junayed Ahmed, 34, a staff reporter of the dainik Bibiana published from Nabiganj Upazila of the district.
Shayestaganj Railway station master Shahidur Rahman told banglanews, “Junayed, son of Ismail Mia of Satail village in Nabiganj, was crushed under the wheels of a Chittagong -bound train from Sylhet near Shayestaganj Degree College gate at 12:15 am and died on the spot.”
Shayestaganj Railway police outpost ASI Shah Alam told reporters, “Railway police recovered the body and sent it to Habiganj Adhunik Sadar Hospital for autopsy at around 9 am.”
