Launching Ceremony of Youth Clubs on june 14th,2012.

Aware Girls is young women led Organization working for women empowerment, gender equality, and peace in Pakistan. It is working to strengthen the leadership capacity of young women enabling them to act as agents of social change and women empowerment in their communities. It was initiated in 2002, by a group of young girls who met at a seminar on “Honor Killing” in Peshawar.  Aware Girls was established as a platform for young women who want to empower women, and work towards gender equality. The aim was to provide leadership opportunities to young women, and to strengthen their role as agents of change and Women Empowerment.

Aware Girls envisions a world where women rights are equally respected as Human Rights, women have control over their own lives and have equal access to Education, Employment, Governance, Justice, Legal Support, Financial Resources, Recreation, Health specifically Sexual and Reproductive Health and Social Services. 

Aware Girls have launched a helpline in the name of “Madadgaar” on 19th May, 2012. Madadgaar Helpline provides telephonic counseling, face to face counseling to walk-in survivors, crisis intervention, guidance, legal advises and legal aid and referral services to children and women victims of violence, abuse and exploitation particularly the children and women who are most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our society. As part of Madadgaar, Aware Girls have established Youth Clubs in different institutions of Peshawar and is working to further strengthen them. These clubs will enhance leadership among youth as they will be motivated to dialogue with parliamentarians, policy makers and decision makers on raising issues identified through Madadgaar database. Besides these member students will get an opportunity of national exposure and to share ideas and to work with youth from other provinces as these clubs will also be established in Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.

On 14th June, 2012 the “Youth Clubs” were launched Mr. Syed Aqil Shah, Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism was the Chief Guest. More than 60 people participated in the launching ceremony. The Executive Director Saba Ismail, Helpline In-charge Fatima Saeed, Board Member Alina Shah shared the progress and working areas of Aware Girls and Madadgaar with the audience. Volunteer Muhmmad Toqeer and Dawood Shah performed an activity to motivate the audience.
