None finds any urge to send a seriously injured minor boy to hospital

DHAKA, Sept 28, 2012: You will simply be astonished to hear a real life drama of inhuman in nature centring a seriously injured minor boy, who has to remain on the spot of occurrence at least for an hour senseless following a train accident adjacent to the Kamalapur railway station in the city. But, none came either to rescue the ill-fated boy or felt any urgency to send him immediately to hospital.

Such an inhuman incident has been noticed in the country's main railway station-Kamlapur-- at about 3 pm this afternoon (Friday)when a wheel of a train ran over a minor boy identified as Monir Hossain ,8, and cut his right leg on the spot, a person who went to visit the ill-fated boy at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), told BSS.

He said Monir and his friend came to the railway station from the city's Sepoybagh area to see movement of trains without taking permission from his guardians. Monir's father Mokbul Hossain is a security guard who resides at Sepoybagh in the city.

Immediately after the accident, many curious people rushed to the spot and witnessed the condition of ill-fated Monir, who fell unconscious in the accident. But, they haven't shown any kindness to the ill-fated minor boy or felt any urgency send him to hospital for treatment.

Later, a kind train passenger, Shahjalal, rescued the boy and brought him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) without getting any cooperation of the onlookers.

According to an eyewitness, attendants at the DMCH referred him to shift Monir to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) for better treatment.

However, some kind-hearted members of the intelligence agencies and locals came forward with financial assistance and send the seriously injured boy on an ambulance free of charge to NITOR.

The ill-fated boy, now, has been undergoing treatment at the public hospital, a doctor of NITOR told BSS over phone.

"Allah forbid, do you realise such an unfortunate situation might take place to any member of your family at an unknown place and none will extend hands of help in need, as you avoided the ill-fated minor boy earlier," the eyewitness said in utter frustration.
