PUTA Donates Rs. 0.5 Million to Iranian Earthquake Victims.

Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) represented by President PUTA Prof. Jamil Ahmad, and Dr. FazliNasir, General Secretary, PUTA  met Mr. Hassan Darvishvand, Counsel General of Iran in Peshawar for a condolence Meeting showing Unity with the People of Iran in this troubled time. Dr. QiblaAyaz, Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar headed the Delegation. Speaking on the occasion, VC Peshawar University expressed deep sorrow on the demise of most precious lives in the recent earthquake that hit mostly Tabrez Province of Iran. President PUTA appreciated the Iranian government for its all-out support during similar disasters that erupted in Pakistan in recent past. He said that the people of both countries are like one nation and we will always share our joys and sorrows like ever. The Iranian Counsel paid special thanks to University of Peshawar through Dr. QiblaAyaz and his delegation and The representatives of PUTA for such warm feelings for the people of Iran and assured that both countries will further find ways and means to flourish these relations in education, culture and diplomatic relations increasing civil society interventions and exchange of delegations between the two brotherly nations. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Pakistan and said that this donation and visit is itself a good gesture of friendship between the two brotherly nations. Dr. FazliHadi, Registrar, University of Peshawar who was also present on the occasion was requested to furnish a mechanism to establish closer coordination between the universities of two brotherly countries and how to encourage the people of both countries to exchange faculties and students.
