The ThinkBrigade website has officially launched! Thinkbrigade is an independent online magazine, which is published by a united, collaborative and multi-media team of 35 international reporters. It aims to showcase “best practices” of multimedia reporting through a team-based method where sharing ideas and skills takes place in order to cover the timely topics that matter to the world.

Thinkbrigade is not just another online magazine covering the current international issues. The entire project is based on the concept of “swarm creativity”. With a great diversity of reporters, the Thinkbrigade project aims to enhance the individual reporter’s creativity, knowledge and skills, and maximise the quality of reporting through collaborative research and active debates on the issues that are uncovered by mainstream media.

Each reporter has something to offer to the team; skills varying from professional journalism to social media, and from video-editing to news cartography. Supported by the European Journalism Centre with its minimal intervention, the selected group of professional/aspiring journalists, bloggers, videographers, photographers and sector experts, forms a self-organised team, which plans, develops, and implements what they believe to be the best form of reporting. In addition, the selected reporters will act as a foreign correspondent in his/her country of residence, and will represent the Thinkbrigade magazine at international events and report on the ground and from local perspectives.

The magazine covers various topics including development, environment, politics, technology, media and human rights at international, national, and local level.

In this project, the term “brigade” is defined as “a group of persons organised for a specific purpose”. Our team of reporters gathered for a specific reason; showcasing “best practices” of multimedia reporting on the issues that affects peoples’ lives on Earth. The process of “thinking” is the key to achieve its goal, strengthened by the diversity of reporters with various backgrounds in terms of profession, age, gender, nationality and country of residence.
