Unpaid Female Journalist Commits Suicide in Lahore

According to police, 30-year-old Seemab of Pandori area in Narang Mandi worked for a Lahore basednewspaper and had not been paid fopr last two months. The hostel administration was pressing her to pay the room rent ahead of Eid.

On Wednesday, Seemab jumped from the fourth floor of the girls’ hostel. She was taken to hospital but could not survive.

Seemab was the only financial support for her diseased father and her younger brothers. Police are further investigating the incident.

Very sad...Unfortunately not many people know how journalist are ex ploitedby the media owners/moguls...Probably they would like journalists to work for free and never complain, like slaves...

HI, hanna yeah this is tragedy now the situation is more difficult becuz the owner of news paper not arrested F.I.R is lodge office of news paper is still closed police searching to owner pakistani media forcing to high command and still protest against the owner of anti crime news paper

This is a tragedy Mohammad. Has the paper she was working for or hostel she was staying at made any comment?
